3 Day Phnom Penh Tour - Main Site, Excursion & Ancient Temple Sites of Central Cambodia

Day 1 -  Morning: Meet your tour guide around 8.00 am at the reception desk

Depart from the hotel lobby to visit to the Royal Palace compound build in 1866 by the Predecessors of King Norodom, is the most conspicuous feature and also one of impressive colorful Khmer-style Palaces. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), display plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made by diamond, emerald, gold and silver. Then, we continue to visit the National Museum. After that, visit to Wat Phnom, Built in 1443 to enshrine a sacred hair of the Buddha, When the Khmer Rouge evacuated Phnom Penh in 1975, they vandalized the building and murdered the Abbot along with many of the 500 monks who lived there, and we go to see Victory, Friendship, and Independence Monument.

Day 1 - Afternoon: visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the notorious ‘Killing Fields’ Choeung Ek.

Not to be missed. A visit to these sights provides you a deep insight into the painful bloody rule of the Khmer Rouge.

Day 2  - Meet your tour guide at 8.00am at Frangipani Villa Phnom Penh

Option 1: Tonle Bati

Tonle Bati is a small lake about 30 km south of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It is a popular weekend destination for the local population. It is also a popular fishing spot for both tourists and people who live locally. Close to the lake, there is a temple, Ta Prohm, built in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII. It is located off the highway to Takeo, and visit Russian Market, There is a good range of trousers, skirts, shirts, T-shirts, boxer shorts and shoes.

Option 2: Tamao Zoo

Tamao Zoo, This recently opened zoo and wildlife rescue centre, 40km outside the city, was set up to preserve and rescue rare and endangered local wildlife including tiger, lion, deer, bear, peacock, heron, crocodile and turtle. Eighty hectares of the total area have been established as a national zoo and up to 1,200 hectares have been reserved for its future extension and development, and visit Russian Market, There is a good range of trousers, skirts, shirts, T-shirts, boxer shorts and shoes.

 

Day 3 -  Meet your tour guide at 8.00am at Frangipani Villa Phnom Penh

Option 1: Oudong

Oudong Mountain Located to the north approximately 40km from Phnom Penh , and located on a hill overlooking vast plains, this site is famous for cultural patrimonies and used to be a capital city between 1618-1866. and around 15:00pm, back to Phnom Penh. Arrive Phnom Penh in late afternoon & enjoy boat cruise on Mekong River for sunset (1 hour).

Option 2: Phnom Chisor

Phnom Chisor is an ancient Khmer temple located in Sla village, Rovieng commune, Samraŏng District, Takéo Province, about 60 km south of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The temple was built in the 11th century of laterite and bricks with carved sandstone lintels by the Khmer Empire king Suryavarman I, who practiced Brahmanism. It was dedicated to the Hindu, and around 15:00pm, back to Phnom Penh. Arrive Phnom Penh in late afternoon & enjoy boat cruise on Mekong River for sunset.
